Product Review Engineer
My role at Boeing Co. is as a Product Review Engineer. This position works closely with quality and manufacturing to provide rework and repair of defects that occur during production of aircraft (typically commercial 737 aircraft) that satisfy static strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance requirements. In some cases further collaboration with design groups, suppliers, and appropriate subject matter experts (SMEs) or engineering unit members (E-UMs) to assure that rework and repair meets engineering and FAA requirements.
- Obtain and maintain Material Review Board Authority, Delegated Design Engineer, and Design Approval Engineer Certification.
- Design rework/repairs for manufacturing defects that satisfy static strength and fatigue requirements
- Support chronic manufacturing and design build issues resolution
- Provide engineering interpretation of design and build requirements
- Coordinate with manufacturing, design, quality, and stress groups to facilitate production
Projects / Accomplishments
- Develop and implement sections for Electrical Wiring Course(s)
- Update / create new excel based calculators for entire skill
- Assist in training / mentorship of new engineers and recommend additional tools to support engineering development
